Cecilia Maria Ariemma
My name is Cecilia Maria Ariemma, and I was born in 1998 in Biella, Italy. I began my academic journey at the Scientific High School of Biella and subsequently pursued higher education at the University of Trieste. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Technologies, during which my thesis focused on the role of skeletal muscle in the aging process. In 2024, I completed a Master’s degree in Ecology of Global Change at the University of Trieste. My thesis centered on the analysis of macrozoobenthic communities in a mountain lake of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Northeast Italy, aiming to study their ecological dynamics and responses to environmental variables. This work contributed to a broader understanding of how freshwater ecosystems are affected by global and local environmental changes. My primary academic and research interests lie in the fields of ecology, biodiversity, and the impacts of global change on ecosystems and I am conducting a seven-month research visit with the Arthropod Research Group at the University of La Laguna.
